Algarve 'perfect for a last glimpse of sun'

With its "unspoilt beaches" and impressive year-round weather, the Portuguese holiday villa hotspot is the "perfect last-blast-of-sunshine saloon", according to Fiona Hardcastle, writing for the Daily Telegraph.

The travel commentator states that the Algarve coastline, stretching approximately 100 miles, "is home to some of the most dramatic ochre cliff faces and unspoilt beaches in Europe".

She adds that a number of airlines offer "competitive prices" on flights to Faro, so Britons should be able to enjoy a great value holiday to the Algarve.

Low-cost airline bmibaby recently announced a 29 per cent increase in flights to Faro for its winter 2009/10 holiday season operating out of East Midlands airport.

The new services should benefit those hoping to take golf holidays in Portugal over the coming months, as well as families looking to escape the dreary weather of the UK with a well-earned break in the sun.
